Ushering in a new school year

Dean Daphne TarasIt is my pleasure to welcome everyone back to the Ted Rogers School for another exciting academic year. I hope you enjoyed your summer, and took some time to relax and to recharge for the busy Fall semester.

After being quiet for so long, our building is finally buzzing and full of energy once again. I am delighted to have students, faculty and staff back in our building for the new school year for in-person classes, activities and events.

During the summer, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) – one of the most prestigious business school accreditors in the world – extended Ted Rogers School’s accreditation. This achievement validates that we are among the best of the best when it comes to business education, research and student experience, and I am thankful for everyone’s contributions to reach this level of excellence.

We also welcomed several new tenure-stream faculty members to our school in a range of academic disciplines: Dr. Justice Ogoroh (Law and Business), Ye (Frank) Wang (Accounting), Dr. Lucas Dufour (HR Management and Organizational Behaviour), Dr. Eugene Chan (Marketing Management), Dr. Carène Boucher (Finance), Dr. Ranjita Singh (Entrepreneurship & Strategy), Matthew Marinett (Law and Business) and Dr. Liang (Arthur) Li (Global Management Studies), who was recently honoured with the Best Dissertation Award at the Academy of Management Conference. Finding candidates who embody the values of the Ted Rogers School is integral to our growth and success, and we are happy to have them all here.

Thank you to everyone for working tirelessly over the past two years to ensure our students had a rich and rewarding university experience during a challenging time. I am immensely proud of our efforts and look forward to a closer return to normal in 2022-23. I wish everyone a successful year!

Best,
Daphne Taras
