I hope your 2025 is off to a great start! At the Ted Rogers School, we are mid-way through the Winter semester and I'm very proud of all of the remarkable achievements we have had so far this year.
Last week, the Ted Rogers Sales Leadership Program hosted the inaugural Canadian University Sales Competition. The event gave students from universities across Canada the opportunity to compete in sales challenges, gain feedback from sales professionals, attend leadership and skill-building workshops, and connect with recruiters for internship and career opportunities. Congratulations on a successful event!
We are also preparing for a number of other events at our school this month. On February 20, we will be welcoming award-winning author and Institut Polytechnique de Paris professor Antonio Casilli for a talk about "The AI Godot Effect: The Mirage of Total Automation and its Hidden Workers,” and on February 24, we will be recognizing faculty, staff and research achievements from the past year at our annual awards celebration.
As well, we learned recently of the passing of Wayne McFarlane, a friend of the Ted Rogers School and most recently served as Distinguished Professional Advisor Emeritus with the school. Our thoughts are with Wayne’s family and friends and the many faculty, staff and students he befriended and supported over the years.
I know that the second half of the semester will be filled with many more events and initiatives, including the release of Ted Rogers School’s new strategic plan. I hope you remember to take some time to rest and recharge this Reading Week to keep the momentum going and ensure a strong finish to the Winter term.
