As I begin my second academic year at the Ted Rogers School as Dean, one of the great pleasures is welcoming back our students, faculty and staff for a new academic year.
We kicked off the school year by hosting the MBA Responsible Leadership Challenge thanks to a generous gift by Zabeen Hirji, Founder, Purposeful Third Act, and former CHRO, RBC. The competition gave the new cohort of Ted Rogers MBA students the opportunity to strengthen their skills in responsible leadership and present to a panel of industry executives. Congratulations on the successful event and to the winning teams!
We also recently added two new research institutes to our school: the Retail Leadership Institute and the Institute for Sustainable Practices in Research and Enterprise (INSPIRE). I look forward to seeing the innovative research that will be produced at these institutes and the impact their work will have on society.
Also, we have implemented a new co-op direct admission option for students. Now they can apply for co-op directly through the Ontario University Application Centre (OUAC) portal or, depending on your major, at the end of your first or second year. Congratulations to everyone on our team who helped make this option possible for our students.
We have a lot of exciting events and activities planned for the fall that I hope to see you at. I look forward to the possibilities ahead and wish you all a successful semester!
